Life Sketch taken from the Funeral Bulletin

Palmer was born January 14, 1928 in Tampa, Kansas to John and Susanna Base.

Palmer married Lucille Thiesen on March 25, 1956 in rural Newton, Kansas. He and his family lived in the Tampa-Roxbury area all his life where he was a farmer and dairyman. Palmer loved living in the country. Farming was not a hobby, but a way of life. He was of German/Dutch decent and he and Lucille spoke low German in the home.

Palmer was a sweet, lovable man who had a deep faith in God, and was loved and respected by family, friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Delbert, Tolbert and Paul; his sisters, Roseina and Hattie; his wife, Lucille; son, Merrill; and daughter, Pamela. He leaves behind his very special son-in-law, who was more like a son to him, and many loving nieces and nephews.

We will all remember his gentle ways, his giggle and his John Deere suspenders.

We love you and miss you.
