Hillsboro – Betty Bernhardt, 96, died September 29, 2017 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.  She was born May 6, 1921 in Elyria, Kansas to Albert and Elizabeth (Hiebert) Vogt.  She was a School Teacher.  She married Alvin Bernhardt who passed away in 1975.  Survivors include: son, Kenneth Bernhardt of St. Petersburg, Florida; granddaughter, Kayci Fultz of Olathe.  Predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Fultz in 1979.  Celebration of Life Service 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro Officiated by Pastor John Werner.  Interment at Zion Lutheran cemetery in Hillsboro.  Memorials to the Church in care of Jost Funeral Home P.O.   2. Mrs. Bernhardt was my teacher for 2 different grades. As a teacher she was one of my favorites, always happy and willing to help. I visited her when she was at Parkside Homes and we had a great time reminiscing about her teaching days. She was so proud of Kenny and Kayci. May God be with you during this time.
